Volunteers for TG4 programme needed
I'm working on a new TV series for TG4 that will feature the women of the GAA - from the mothers who drive miles to matches around the country to the background teams of female physios and doctors, from the loyal supporters to the board members who help to run the clubs.
If anybody knows someone who might be interested in learning more about the series I'd really appreciate hearing about them. As it is a TG4 series, participants would need to have an adequate level of Irish.

Dublin League Division 6
Setanta 6-1 vs. Bray Emmets 6-2
An incredible second half comeback from our under 12 hurlers saw them leave Ballymun with with 2 points in a great start to their first post-grading match in Division 6. Trailing by 6-0 to 2-1 at half time, the team put in a fantastic performance in the second-half, scoring the winning goal with just a minute to spare. A combination of holidays, football trips and slumber parties had left the squad depleted and, in some cases, sleep-deprived. But those who were there on the day really came up to the mark. Scores from Jamie Healy, Shane Baguley and Adam Prunty sealed the win. Strong goalkeeping from Dara Byrne, great defending by Cathal MacMaoláin, Fiachra Ó Dúnaí and James Byrne and some tenacious tackling in midfield from Alex Colgan and Nathan Hunter all made huge contributions to this fine team performance. U14 Hurling
Dublin Hurling League Division 5:
Bray Emmets 1-05 vs Castleknock B 2-06
The 2002 Hurlers continued their Dublin league campaign with a match against Castleknock B on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon in Old Conna on May 8. In a game that was keenly contested from the throw in Emmets established a marginal advantage in key areas of the pitch and took an early lead that was maintained to half time. The back line played superbly with eye catching performances from all. Daniel F and Eoin in the corners, Tadhg and Zak on the wings and Aaron and Adam in the centre caught and blocked and harried and cleared and frustrated almost every attack. Ben had another great day in goals and distributed the ball well with his puck outs. Peter and Philip worked tirelessly from midfield as did Cathal when he changed there. Jack won great ball and carried well while the other forwards Rian, Daniel M, Rory and Andrew, struggled against big and aggressive Castleknock backs, but created problems every time the ball came to them. Emmets went into the break leading 1-4 to 1-01 and got the first score of the second half, but things then began to go wrong as players tired. We had no subs with Sam and Seb both out injured and Brian unavailable, and as Castleknock cleared their bench fresh legs impacted and a goal for Castleknock seemed to make weary legs wearier. The Emmets lads battled on but couldn’t regain the momentum and Castleknock ran out worthy winners on a score of 2-6 to 1-5.
Bray Emmets: Ben, Daniel F, Aaron, Eoin, Tadhg, Adam, Zack, Peter, Philip (1-3), Jack, Cathal (0-1), Andrew, Rian, Rory (0-1) and Daniel M.U14 Camogie
Emmet Bhré 3-1 vs Na Fianna 0-0.
The U14 Camogie team played a tall, physical Glasnevin outfit, Saturday 7th May out near the eardrum booming Dublin Airport. Despite the final score-line, many of the exchanges were tough-fought and well-earned by the tenacious Bray girls. To the fore were centre-back Laura McGarry, Síofra Ní Mhidigh and Caoimhe Byrne.
Although Bray led at the interval, all hands were needed on deck throughout the second-half as Na Fianna battled tigerishly. Players that made very commendable contributions were Madge Redmond, Úna Smierciak, Mary-Anne Aherne and Catherine McGarry. Bhí na traenálaithe ar fad, Larry Smierciak ina measc, sásta go maith ag deireadh an chluiche.
