The under 14 boys team with their Oldcastle GAA friends. Sums up the spirit of the Football Feile. For more photographs of the weekend please go to our Facebook page.
The Féile weekend was hugely successful for the club. We hosted four teams Oldcastle, Ballysaggart, and two teams from New York . The parade held in our splendid grounds on Saturday morning was a wonderful sight and a proud day for all of the club. Our host families were so welcoming to all the children and we are very grateful for the huge effort you all made over the weekend.
The Bray Emmets teams participating in the Féile competed well on the field over the weekend. Bray Emmets 2 girls reached the shield semi-final, the Bray Emmets 2 boys finished their participation in the Féile after the quarter finals on the Saturday, The Bray Emmets 1 boys reached the finals of the Division 1 shield and the Bray Emmets 1 girls won the Division 2 shield final. New York boys reached the semi- final of Division 1 and the New York girls won the Division 2 title.
Many of the players have been with the club since they were five years of age and the performance by all the Bray Emmets teams is the culmination of years of work, effort and training by all the mentors and players.
A special word of thanks to those that volunteered over the weekend to enable your club to do such a fantastic job. We are grateful to those that acted as the umpires, pitch stewards, car park attendants and those that minded dressing rooms. We had a huge amount of support and help in the kitchen, tent and barbeque on the Friday and on the Saturday for the 12 hours that we provided catering to well over a thousand people.
Thank you to Anne Longmore for all her help, to the men manning the BBQ, to the U15 crew who gave great support to the club over the two days and in the days before, to all those who gave their time in the kitchen and tent, to those who did the supermarket runs, to those that gave an hour or ten hours it all made a huge difference. We had great parental support during the year to run the various events such as the discos, mini marathon etc which were held to raise funds for the Féile weekends.
The weekend had been in the planning for a few months and a big thank you to Brenda Maloney, Liam McGraynor, Joe Barnes, Paul Hunt and Lorette Jackson who have been working hard in the background to make the weekend happen.

Club jerseys, unused hurleys and helmets
Would all players, parents and mentors to check if they have any Bray Emmets team jerseys. There are a number of jerseys missing from juvenile and adult team sets . The jerseys can be returned any night of the week to the clubhouse or on Saturday morning between 10.30 and 12.30pm. We are also looking for any hurleys and hurling helmets that are not being used at present to be dropped into the clubhouse where we will find good use for them.

Senior hurling/Dublin league
Ballinteer 0-15, Bray Emmets 0-13.
Bray played Ballinteer away on Sunday in Marlay Park We were missing a few regulars for various reasons and had to start with 14. Bray started well with a point from Eoin Mc Cormack but Ballinteer used their man advantage to lead at the break by 10 points to 7. We started the 2nd half with 15 as the injured Michael Walsh arrived as a spectator and he went in goal to release Peter O’Reilly for forward duties.
Both did well with O’Reilly contributing 3 points from play and Walsh rock steady in the goal. Bray pinned Ballinteer back in the second half despite playing against the wind with Henderson and Cunningham playing well at the back. Gearoid O’Murchu and Tom Cash did the scoring and Luke O’Reilly scored a great point from the sideline and the brother chipped in with3 points.
At the Final whistle Bray had 2 goal-bound efforts saved for 65’s both of which were lobbed in and came to nothing. Ben Mc Cormack played really well throughout the game and won a lot of ball around the midfield and haff back areas.
Bray Peter O’Reilly (0-3), Cathal O’Dualachan, Daire Henderson, Jordan Lee, Luke O’Reilly (0-1) Barry Cunningham, Gearoid O’Murchu (0-3) Eoin Mc Cormack(0-1) Dara Maloney, Ben Mc Cormack (0-1), David Ebbs, Tom Cash (0-4),Brian Duggan, Michael Walsh.U13 hurling
Bray Emmets Vs Clontarf
The U-13 hurlers continued their Dublin campaign with a determined win against Clontarf at home on Saturday June 20. Cathal opened the scoring with a well taken goal and quickly added another and a point. Oscar also goaled in the first half for a half time score of 3-1 to 0-2. Clontarf scored quickly and often at the start of the second half. Then the Emmets backs took control and very strong performances by Adam, Sebastian, and Ben at the back, Jack Sam and Philip in the middle third, and clinical finishing from Cian who scored 2-2, Gavin with a goal and Andrew with 0-2, saw Emmets win on a scoreline of 7-5 to 2-6.
The teams were very evenly matched, the difference being the determination of the Emmets players, and their better score taking on the day, and the full hearted contributions from every member of the squad.

The Under 14 Boys Féile Football squad made it to the final of the Division 1 Shield over the weekend. We had 6 games over 3 days, culminating in a breathtaking contest against Athenry, Galway on the last afternoon. Despite our runners-up medals, there was a very satisfying sense of achievement – reinforced by Willie Braine who was an inspiration to Niall and the players at the more tense moments of our Féile assault. Míle buíochas leis na tuismitheoirí a bhí linn an t-am ar fad.
