Under 12 Hurling
We have hit the €10,000 mark.....There was no Match 4 winner of the Club Lotto on Friday, 10th October when the numbers drawn were 4, 6, 15 and 20 so next week, the jackpot goes up to €10,000. If you’re not already signed up please do so as not only are you in with a chance to win a serious Jackpot but you are also helping support your local club. It is €2 per week but goes a long way towards running all the facilities that we have. Brenda Maloney was the name drawn in the Lucky Dip. Further details are available at www.brayemmets.com.
Bray Emmets under twelve hurling team continued their unbeaten run in Dublin last Saturday with a well deserved win over Clontarf. Playing 13 aside Bray started brightly with Sam and Philip (who was playing with a heavy cold) were dominating in midfield. The forward line of Rory (just back from injury) Brian, Jack, Riain and Daniel F were working hard to create space and were rewarded with some well worked scores. The backline of Aaron, Zack, Sebastian, Tadhg and Eoin were dominant with Cathal very assured in goal. The introduction of Daniel M ensured Bray finished the first half on top. The second half was much tighter with Clontarf getting more to grips with Brays danger men. However Bray continued to play high intensity brand of hurling with Aaron, Eoin, Tadhg, Rory and Sebastian very strong in the backline with Jack dominant in goal. Sam and Cathal scored well from midfield with the forward line of Brian, Daniel M, Daniel F, Riain, Philip and Zack continued to impress. This was a good performance by everyone with everyone contributing. Thanks to Clontarf for making the long journey out and thanks to the referee who rushed from a match in Shankill to officiate. Hurling training as normal next Saturday at half ten. Under 12 Girls Football
Emmet Bhré 2-8,St Anne's 0-7.Ladies Under 14 Girls Football
The Under 12 Girls' Football team played St Anne's, Bohernabreena, Sun 12 Oct. Based on last year's defeat, this was a game Bray Emmets faced with determination and no small measure of apprehension. However, the girls thundered out of the blocks. Emily Riddell got the opening point, followed by Orla Jackson and subsequent goals from Sarah Lambe and Síofra Ní Mhidigh. The Bray juggernaut was en route.
In the second-half, Amy Healy gave a ' laoch na himeartha ' performance, provoking singular mention from the St Anne's manager. Alice O'Doherty was very alert in defence, Caoimhe Byrne, and the hard-working Amy Butler / Emily Cahill axis. Bhí Tomás an-sásta ar fad agus mhol sé na cailíní go mór.

Bray Emmets 9-09 Blessington 3-02Ladies Minor Football
The U14 Ladies played Blessington on Saturday in the A Shield Final. This was our second year to reach the A Shield Final having won last year against Cumann na Mara. The venue this year was Roundwood and we were lucky to get a beautiful October day for our match. The girls had trained well but we were very aware that Blessington would not be easily overcome. From the start the girls went hard at it and it was not long before Bray had a goal and a point on the score board. The Blessington girls were not for letting us off too easily though and they replied with a very well taken goal.Tit for tat followed and at half time it was 4 goals 4 points to Bray v 3 goals and 1 point to Blessington. A rousing team talk took place at half time and suffice to say that the Bray girls went out and to say that they took no prisoners would be putting it mildly. How do you pick out girls when all played so hard? Well, Eve Murphy was responsible for 5 goals and a few points. I reckon that if Martin O Neill had been in An Tochar she would have been brought to the Aviva straight away! Jane Butler was immense as was the whole half back line including Alice Fitzgerald and Alannah Barry. Molly Fitzgerald and Leah Carroll ran their hearts out in midfield and never looked like they would stop! Emily Devenney was unlucky to get a hand injury but prior to that did a great job in the full back line and came back on to play in the forwards and scored 2 goals. The half forward line of Eimear Martin , Shauna Ryan and the afore mentioned Eve Murphy were totally dangerous. Eleanor Carroll Hayes and Laura Butler did plenty of damage in the full forward line ensuring a constant supply of ball to Rachel Rice in the centre and managing a couple of scores themselves as well.I know this is a lengthy report but truth to tell I could actually mention every single player.
Team; Nicole Ryan-Goalie, Kerri Keane, Grace Browne Captain, Emily Devenney, Alannah Barry, Jane Butler, Alice Fitzgerald, Leah Carroll, Mollly Fitzgerald, Shauna Ryan, Eimear Martin, Eve Murphy, Eleanor Carroll Hayes, Laura Butler, Rachel Rice, Brona Murphy, Caoimhe Hardiman, Eva Cullen, Alannah Henry, Aine Clarke, Shauna O Kelly, Lauren Healy.
Bray Emmets 5 - 10 AGB 4 - 8
Bray Emmets Minor Girls played this B Final on a beautiful Sunny Sunday morning in Newtown. 19 girls togged out to contest this game against a very tough AGB team. The strong sun and the lie of the pitch had a big factor in this game. Bray composed themselves well and fought for every ball, but at times were sloppy with their scoring. We had numerous wides in the first half, but still went in 2 goals and 1 point up to the good. AGB came out in the second half with the sun at their backs and within 5 minutes had clawed back 2 goals with just a point between us. The Bray girls dug in deep, found their composure, and produced some skilful moves to bring the game to within 2 points. Bray was unfortunate to find themselves down to fourteen girls 10 minutes from the end. They did not fall apart. They dug deep and closed out the game with a 5 point gap.
This team is made up of our Minors and under 16’s. They have played and trained all year with our seniors and today it showed that combining the group training sessions has been successful. Well done to Danika Goulding (Capt) for her lovely speech (As Gaelic) and continued success to the Minors who move to Senior and the under 16’s that move up to Minor for 2015.
