Large Bray Representation as Wicklow U14 Hurlers win their division in the Tony Forristal tournament

Playing all their matches in Walsh park in division,having won this competition last year with a very strong squad, the lads were under pressure to achieve again this year, against Tyrone, Armagh and Mayo.

The squad really gelled well together and started very well in the first match against Tyrone winning it by 2-11 to 1-01. The second match against Mayo was very competitive against a very strong Mayo side. A good start saw the Wicklow lads leading at half time 2-04 to 0-02
Mayo came out very strong in the second half but strong defending held them really well. Thanks to a clean sheet by Jamie Byrne in goal we one with a full time score of 2-05 to 0-03 

The third game against Armagh we used the full panel the all performed really well winning the match 5-11 to 1-03

All the finals were played in Walsh Park on Sunday 31st August, Wicklow played Mayo in division three final. Pierce Sweeney who played in the three matches on Saturday was not available to play on Sunday. The midfield was changed moving moving Peter Quigley  to partner James Smullen. The half back line of Aaron Nugent, Enda Molloy and Diarmuid Masterson gave a great display giving the Mayo half forwards very little ball. Any thing that got through was cleaned up by a very good fullback line of Luke Maloney Conon Linnane and Cathal O Dulachain. All the forwards played very well as a unit getting some great scores. The Half forward line of Emmet Byrne Jim Doyle and Wayne Kinsella full forward line of Kevin Byrne Daniel Nolan and Cian O Byrne. Wicklow won the final by 3-07 to 2-02 despite conceeding a very late goal.

The Bray Emmets representatives for the weekend  were Pierce Sweeney, Cian O Byrne, Jim Doyle, Enda Molloy, Luke Maloney, Muris O Floinn, Diarmuid Masterson ( capt ) Cathal O Dulachain All the lads preformed really well and represented their County with honour well done lads.
