Minor hurlers played Eire Óg's in Greystones on Sunday morning
last. In the start of their second round of the league the Bray
team opened the scoring with a point from a free by Gearoid
O'Murchú. This was followed fairly smartly by a point and a goal
from Eire Óg.
The first round match has finished in a draw so no doubt
confidence was growing with the home team. However that was short
lived as at half time the score was 2-7 for Bray to 1-2 for Eire Óg
with scoring from Gearoid, Tom Cash and Matthew Keating. The
St Brendan's Oklahoma cowboys, Owen Brazil, Luke O'Reilly and Harry
Stephenson along with backstage director Peter O'Reilly having
returned from their Transition Year trip to Paris the night before
all played "tres bienne" having obviously picked up some artistic
touches from their visit to the Louvre!
The second half, while a little more physical, saw more of the
same from Bray with Aaran Murphy also adding to the score board.
The Bray backs never let the Greystones forwards through with the
ball. Cillian O'Maolmhuaidh made a brilliant save towards the end
of the match which deterred Eire Óg from getting a much needed
goal. Final scoreline was Bray Emmets 3-18 Eire Óg 1-4. Bray Emmets
next match is against Carnew in Bray on Good Friday at 12 noon.
