League Game V Arklow

2 April, 2008

Bray Emmets 1-11, Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney 1-6.

Bray Emmets under 14 team got the 2008 football season off on a winning note in Arklow on Wed evening in a really good football match. All the players did well . The panel consists of U13 and U14 and some of the younger lads particularly Daniel O'Toole up front and Andrew Bartley in goal did well on the their first outing at this level.

The game started well for Bray and we got the first score however we were rocked by an early goal and it looked like we were in trouble. By half time we had steadied the ship despite a blood injury to Diarmuid Masterson to go in level at 0-5 to 1-2.

We played with the breeze in the second half and then we showed some great class to score 1-3 in a blistering 10 minute spell. The scores involved 4 and 5 passes in field length movements with all the players getting involved. Arklow rallied and we defended gallantly to hold them to point scoring chances with some great saves and block downs. Overall a great team effort with everyone playing their part and giving their all.
