Bray Emmets 2-10, Baltinglass
3-7
Bray played Baltinglass in a top of the table clash on Wednesday
evening last and came away with a draw. The competition in this
grade is quite fierce with three teams dominating at the top. Bray
now have 13 points, Arklow Gers 12 points and Baltinglass 11 points
all having played 8 games. There are 2 rounds remaining so these
three will qualify for the final stages with only the order to be
decided.
Bray started well and got an early goal from Dara Lohan which
had us ahead at half time by 1-3 to 1-2. Baltinglass raced away at
the start of the second half and were ahead by 2-7 to 1-3 when Bray
made a few switches bringing Stephen Kearney to midfield and Dara
Henderson to centre back. Suddenly it was all one way traffic and
Bray got 1 goal and 7 points to go three points ahead and the game
looked all over. However on the stroke of full time Baltinglass
were awarded a penalty which they converted to level the
match..Most of the Bray scores came from close in frees which Lee
Brandon converted.
We have 2 more games in the next 2 weeks when we will have most
of our panel available again. Thanks to the younger players who
have filled in and played so well.
