U11 Hurling - Sunday 22nd

22 March, 2015

U-11 Dublin League Hurling; Westmanstown Gaels 6-5; Bray Emmets 5-3

The under 11 hurling team lost for the first time this season in this keenly contested match with Westmanstown. However, all of the coaches agreed that this was the best performance that this group of players has ever shown in a match. The quality of the hurling from both sides was exceptional, and Bray led with 5 minutes remaining, but were undone by a couple of late scores following an injury to goalkeeper Dara Byrne, who had been in outstanding form up to that point - making some fine saves and delivering accurate and long puck-outs. Performances were very strong throughout the team, with a tight defence of Alex Colgan, Cathal MacMaolain and Finn Tracey, a highly energetic midfield of Adam Prunty, Fiachra O'Dunai and James Byrne, and a very competitive and eager forward line of Shane Baguley, Jamie Mooney and Nathan Hunter. A great performance all round, but coming up just short in the end.
