GAA’s Social Initiative

Bray Emmets is one of the two clubs chosen in Wicklow to take part in a pilot project with the GAA's Social Initiative. The Initiative was established by the GAA in conjunction with Áras an Uachtaráin in an effort to provide a social outlet for older male members of society and to ensure their many talents are not lost to their communities. The idea for this initiative came from President Mary McAleese and her husband Martin.  On Tuesday, 5th July the President invited clubs participating in the Initiative to a Garden Party at the Áras. Bray Emmets was represented at the Áras by Brian Glynn, hurler from the 1952 Bray team that won the Championship, Seamus McCormack Mentor of the 1985 Bray Minor Football championships and Frances Stephenson, Cathaoirleach of Bray Emmets.
